Don't be late
Please make sure your child is at school between 7:45-7:50 a.m. each morning. Class begins at 8:00 a.m. sharp. Parents should remember when dropping their children off to allow enough time for backpacks and winter gear to be put away in lockers. Students still at the lockers at 8:00 a.m. (excluding breakfast students) will be marked tardy since they are not ready to learn. Students entering the building at 8:00 a.m. or after will need to be signed in at the office.
Morning Routine
The right hand entrance is locked at 8:00 a.m. every morning. Students coming in late must report to the office before going to their classrooms. Teachers have already marked students absent at 8:00 a.m. If students arrive in the classroom after attendance it taken, the office will not know. Parents may receive an unnecessary phone call stating their child is not in school, when in fact they came in tardy. End of the Day Communication
If alternative transportation arrangements are made for the end of the day, please notify the office or send a note with your child. For the safety of our students, we must be made aware of such plans. Your child will not be able to go home with anyone who is not on the emergency contact form unless prior notification has been given.

Please Report Student Attendance
Please report your child's absence to the Star School office at (269) 948-4442 any time your child will not be in school. Students arriving late should also be reported to the office. Your cooperation with this important detail is very much appreciated in our efforts to maintain a safe school environment. Note: the phone system is set up to take messages 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Star School office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
