One of our district's most important responsibilities is ensuring that our schools provide safe, reliable, and effective environments where students can learn and thrive. That responsibility extends beyond the classroom, which includes the buildings themselves, the systems that support them, and the long-term planning required to maintain and improve them.
With that in mind, the community is invited to join us on April 20 in the Hastings Middle School Commons at 5:30 p.m. for an important presentation from our consulting partners at GMB.
Over the past several weeks, GMB has conducted the most comprehensive review of our district’s infrastructure that we have ever undertaken. Their work has included detailed assessments of our facilities as well as a careful analysis of feedback gathered through a district-wide survey. Many of you took the time to share your perspectives, and that input has been invaluable in helping us better understand both the strengths of our schools and the areas you would like to see improvement.
At the April 20 presentation, GMB will share their findings and outline potential paths forward for our district. This will not be a final decision-making meeting, but rather an opportunity for all of us to learn together, ask questions, and begin thinking about what comes next.
Just as important, this event is an opportunity for you to continue to be part of the process. Public input is not only welcome, it is essential. The feedback we receive from our community helps guide our decisions and ensures that the direction we take reflects the values and priorities of those we serve.
Maintaining and improving our facilities is not simply about buildings; it is about supporting student success. Updated, reliable infrastructure enhances the learning environment, supports our staff, and helps us provide the high-quality education our students deserve.
We hope you will join us on April 20, engage in the conversation, and help us shape the future of our schools together.
